than me. I have never gotten a satisfactory answer as to the history of its name, but I guess it just gives this wholesome blend of grains a special flair.

Grande Whole Grains is a wonderful blend of wheat berries, rye berries, triticale, barley, brown rice, oat groats, buckwheat groats and sesame seeds. Today was my first experience with this product and I can easily state that this is going to become a kitchen staple in my house.

Look at how beautiful this blend looks when turned into a cold salad or a warm risotto, both of which were delightfully delicious. (We’ll share recipes soon, I promise!) I’m guessing many of you haven’t tried this yet either. This product is not one that appears on many store shelves, but we’re aiming to bring it back. So keep an eye out for it and try some when you find it.

A few years back, I found this Grande mix at a local grocer. I loved the Mexicali Grande recipe on the package. YUM. Then all the sudden, nobody was carrying it on the shelves. I have been trying to find Grande on our store shelves for over a year now, they give me the excuse that it’s not available. I just love this grain for it’s versatility. I hope the distributers push to put this back on all grocery shelves.
